STUDIO JOB

Design studio Studio Job was founded in 1998 by Job Smeets, after graduating from Design Academy in Eindhoven. In 2000, designer Nynke Tynagel joined him and together they started a successful carrier that will make them worldwide known: after opening two studios in Antwerp and Amsterdam, they exhibited their works in museums all over the world, such New York’s MoMA, London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, FIAC, Cooper-Hewitt, Guggenheim, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Wallraf-Richartz Museum, NRW Forum and in several Dutch museums, such as Groninger Museum and Stedelijk Museum. The two designers join art and design in order to create a unique, rebellious style, a continuous provocation and endless challenge to the already established system of modern design. Studio Job designers catch the essence of modernity and contemporary architecture and rework them according to their own style, by using precious materials such bronze, gold, blown-glass, marble and silver. In 2016, New York’s MoMA organized the first solo exhibition dedicated to Studio Job, called MAD HOUSE.
